Maree ReMalia is a dance artist who travels frequently working as a choreographer, performer, and educator. Born in South Korea, and raised in the Midwest, her work celebrates a range of bodies and expressions by welcoming individuals across identities, disciplines, and experience levels to dance. Through her choreography and teaching, she draws from improvisational methods across disciplines to build community and create space for people to make new discoveries in playful and inquisitive ways. merrygogo is her platform for creating project-based performance works with communities of shifting collaborators. She directs dances that keep audiences on their toes with sudden shifts between nuanced gestures, over the top physicalities, meditative moments, and hilariously absurd exchanges that are eccentric, honest, raw, and virtuosic. Currently based in Pittsburgh, she is adjunct faculty at Point Park University and Pearl Diving Artist-in-Residence at PearlArts Studios (May/June 2018).
